A Sexist Conversation in the Traffic Jam
Studies reveal that Istanbul is the second most congested city after Moscow. Unfortunately, most of the Istanbulites spend more than an hour nervously in the traffic every day. In this endless waiting, some sexist commentaries may turn into discussions.

Erkek: Kim? Ben mi yapamıyorum?
Kadın: Evet canım. Kadınlar araba kullanamıyormuşmuş. Ne kadar ilkelsin.
Erkek: Hah! Ben mi ilkelim?
Kadın: Evet canım. Senin kadın formula 1 pilotlarından haberin var mı?
Erkek: Hmm yok.
Kadın: Sen formula 1 kullanabilir misin ki acaba?
Erkek: Ne alakası var şimdi…
Kadın: (Taklit eder) Ne alakası var şimdi…
Erkek: Geç sen dalganı… Geç… Geç…
Kadın: Neyse, böyle saçma genellemelerle vakit kaybetmeyelim. Doğru değil çünkü.
Erkek: Doğru söylüyorsun.
Translation
Man: This Istanbul traffic drives people crazy. How many hours have we been in traffic!
Woman: Exactly.
Man: The driver ahead is never moving. She’s definitely a woman.
Woman: Why?
Man: Because women can not drive well.
Woman: Gosh? Where did this come from?
Man: It’s like that, girl. Women cook well, clean well. They raise children well. But well, they are not very good in traffic.
Woman: This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard lately. And then, you (men) can’t do more than one thing at a time. You cannot drive and talk.
Man: Who? Can’t I?
Woman: Yes, dear. “Women can not drive.” How primitive are you?
Man: Hah! Am I primitive?
Woman: Yes, dear. Do you know about female formula 1 pilots?
Man: Hmm no.
Woman: Can you use formula 1?
Man: What does it have to do with it now …
Woman: (imitates) What does it have to do with it now …
Man: Make your fun… Make your fun…
Woman: Anyway, let’s not waste time with such ridiculous generalizations. Because it’s not true.
Man: You’re right.
