İsterseniz kalan on beş tanesini size getirebilirim. Aralarından sadece on tane seçebilirsiniz.
Kütüphaneci: Örneğin Tom Robbins’in Parfümün Dansı adlı kitabını arıyorsunuz.
Translation
Librarian: Hello, welcome!
Student: I’m looking for a few books. I couldn’t find them in bookstores, but I thought they might be in the library.
Librarian: There are over 1800 books here. Tell me their names and we see if they are here or not.
Student: Here’s the list.
Librarian: I’m checking right now. Yes, the twenty books you are looking for are in the library. But five were taken by other readers. If you want, I can bring the remaining fifteen to you. But our library doesn’t allow you to buy so many books (at the same time). You can choose only ten of them.
Student: Oh, I’m sorry about that. Then I will check out and choose among them.
Librarian: Would you like me to bring you the books right away?
Student: As you can see, I have a lot of books. Instead, would you tell me how I can find the books? Because I do not know. This way, I wouldn’t keep up your time.
Librarian: Of course. See, each bookshelf has a topic. Shelf 000 has general topics. Shelf number 100 has books on philosophy and psychology, and shelf number 200 has books about religion.
Student: This makes my job easier.
Librarian: Yes numbers go up to 900 like this. You can find out what the subject is from the information sign on the shelves.
Student: My area includes languages and linguistics. I think I should look for my books on the shelf 400.
Librarian: Absolutely true.
Student: So what should I do next?
Librarian: Then, In order to find the book you are looking for, you need to look at the codes on the labels we stick on the backs of the books.
Student: So what do these codes mean?
Librarian: The first code in the label is the subject number. The second code contains the first three letters of the author’s last name. The third code contains the date of publication of the book, and finally, the fourth code contains the volume and copy information of the book.
Student: Hmm yeah now I get it.
Librarian: For example, you are looking for Tom Robbins’ book The Dance of Perfume. This book enters the subject of literature number 800 and rhetoric. The author’s surname is written as ROB and the date of publication is 1995.
