Lesson: Taking Your Pet to a Vet in Turkey – Audio

One thing that will quickly attract your attention is that Turks love stray cats and dogs. (Well, especially cats.) They build houses for cats on the streets so that they can have a warm place in the winter. Stray animals never lack food or attention because locals love to feed them and the municipality takes care of their physical well-being.

Vermemi ister misiniz?
Veteriner: Evet, biz her ihtimale karşı tetanoz aşısı yapalım bence.

Veterinarian: Hello, Yes, what was our problem?
Customer: Hello, let me introduce, this is Bulut. This naughty dog escaped from the house without my knowledge and made a nail to stick his foot.
Veterinarian: Oh, naughty dog… Wonderful, his hair is very healthy. Let’s look at its feet. …
Customer: The balcony door was open, but the door of the room was closed. Somehow, he opened the door of the room. He jumped out of the balcony and went up to the other neighborhood.
Veterinarian: Well dogs are smart animals. He must have learned how the door was opened.
Customer: According to neighbors, he played with stray dogs in the other neighborhood. It came and he was covered in dirt and dust.
Veterinarian: Were the vaccinations complete?
Customer: Yes, I made the last one 3 months ago. It must have been written on his health record. Would you like me to give it?
Veterinarian: Okay, I don’t need to look if you’re getting regular vaccines.
Customer: Okay. We need to remove the nail, right?
Veterinarian: Yes, it is not a serious injury, it did not prick deep, thank God.
Customer: Does it have to be vaccinated afterward?
Veterinarian: Yes, in my opinion, let’s do a tetanus vaccine just in case.
